PPaella is a classic Spanish dish comprised of rice, stock, saffron, and a variety of meats, shellfish and vegetables. All are cooked in one giant pan, outside, over an open fire. Paella originates in Valencia, Spain, and the name of the dish refers to the pan in which it is cooked. The dish symbolizes the heritage of two cultures, Roman — where the pan originated — and Arab — the source of the basic ingredient, rice. Traditionally the men would do the cooking of Paella, and this is still true today. In ancient tradition chairs would be placed around the large round pan and with respect and courtesy each would carve out their own triangle and eat into the center of the pan.
We cater Paella Parties with a minimum of 30 people. Each party is bid on an individual basis. Your price will include the cooking of the Paella (a great show!), serving and clean-up. We will cater the Paella to your tastes and preferences, serving a mixed green salad, and providing paper goods. Tray catering is a great way to impress your guests - with no work on your part! We offer an array of great deli items that are perfect for the next time you entertain. All trays are beautifully garnished. Below are our signature trays, each of which can be tailored to your personal tastes. Trays are also available as appetizers to accompany your Paella Party — we typically will keep to a Spanish theme.
Cheese Tray ..... cost of cheeses + time
A variety of artisanal cheeses, your personal preference, a region, theme or with dietary needs are all possible.
Bayleaf Antipasto ..... cost of items + time
Marinated vegetables, Italian artichokes, cippolini onions, roasted tomatoes, pepperdew peppers, and a medley of olives.
Meat Tray ..... cost of meats + time
Pates, salamis, proscuitto, and confit meats.
Breads are available á la carte: Screamin' Banshee Tuscan White Bread is $3.50 a loaf (serves 10); La Brea French Baguette is $2.50 a loaf (serves 10) — other flavors are available — please see our Bread page.
We also carry a wide variety of wines to accompany your event. We would be happy to help with your selections. Volume discounts are available.
Each tray is based on 2oz of product, cheese, meat or antipasto per person. The selections you choose vary in cost per pound which is then passed on to you. We also charge for the time it takes to plate the party tray. A 3lb cheese tray for 25 people with an average cheese cost of $18 per pound, plus estimated plate charge would be $66.50. Some choose to base their selections on price other on special items, it’s up to you!
