Happy!

Beth Kuchynka • April 22, 2020

Greetings friends.

a neon sign on a brick wall that says eat what makes you happy

As we go on during this unprecedented time we keep learning new things...Like, most people are amazing. Not just support wise but downright kind, helpful and sincere. It's very reassuring. We want to keep up with the kindness that has been given to us. Is there some way we can help?

One thing I know I need help with is to eat more happy food. Happy food? Food that actually makes you feel better! It goes beyond comfort. Food that sparks curiosity and joy. One bayleaf way to eat is a Mezze Plate or a Tapas Plate or...you get the idea. Bites that are meant to accompany wine and conversation, even if it's over Zoom...

This week we present the bayleaf Mezze kit. The idea here is we don't really know what day it is let alone which meal we are supposed to be on, but this solves all of that! Part celebration, part healthy, all kinds of feel good with all the great taste you've come to expect from us. While the pizza kit is here to stay (and you certainly can make pizza healthy-ish too); this new kit offers a bevy of bites that encourages clean eating and a happy disposition. We hope you love it.

This weeks kit includes

  • House made hummus - unlike grocery store hummus ours is very soft, made with fresh garbanzos, high quality tahini, fresh garlic and lots of lemon.
  • Dolmas! Little rice bundles that are earthy and light
  • Whole Wheat Pita for dipping
  • Grilled Artichokes
  • Roasted Red Pepper Spread
  • Fresh cucumber & tomato salad with olives

Olive oil has been part of Mediterranean life for thousands of years. It's more than a cooking fat—it's culture, health, and history in a bottle. As Americans we've been a bit slow to catch on...

Fall Wine Extravaganza Join us for an afternoon of delicious wines! Unlike our tastings of the past, this will be more like what we call a "trade" tasting. Each rep will be stationed at a table with 4 of their wines - a mix of chilled whites/roses and reds. You are welcome to mingle, pose questions to the reps, bounce back and forth and taste at your own pace. We'll provide solo cups to encourage you to pace yourself and spit. We'll have staff passing bites of food to pair. We'll be joined by Eric, Jesse and Ken in the Coupeville Rec Hall. This will give us all plenty of room to spread out. There will be discounts offered, lots of conversations had and as much education as you would like. This is a standing, social tasting. Wine club members enjoy discounted ticket pricing as well as deeper discounts on orders at the event. Join one of our wine clubs before the event to take advantage of these extra discounts. You don't want to miss this one! A great opportunity to taste before you buy, restock your wine rack and choose a few special bottles for the upcoming holiday season. Saturday 29 October 3 - 5 Coupeville Rec Hall tickets are required Non-wine Club member Wine Club member
