Day 6 | 12 Days of Christmas | Olive Set

Suzan Wenzel • December 6, 2020
three jars of food are sitting on a wooden table .
For our next Christmas present parcel, we stuffed three of our best ever olive indulgences from Spain, France, and Italy into a bright yellow bayleaf wine bag. Olives – high in vitamin E and heart-healthy, anti-inflammatory nutrients – are the one-size-fits-all, guilt free gift that truly says, “Olive you!”

Cheer up your cheese board – or leave a dirty martini for Santa on Christmas Eve – with seasonally hued La Explanada Pepper Stuffed Olives from Alicante, Spain. These dainty pimento packed manzanilla olives are enjoyable whether eaten straight out of the can or incorporated into regional dishes such as Spanish paella, Cuban picadillo, or Moroccan chicken tagine with green olives and preserved lemons (we have those too!)

Pop the lid on a jar of Arnaud black Provencal olive tapenade – small batch crafted in France – for a ready cracker and bread spread. Toss a scoop with cooked pasta (have you seen our direct-shipped from Italy pasta selection lately?!) as an easy side dish. Grace omelets, fish, or grilled meats with our preferred piquant puree of olives, capers, olive oil, anchovies, and herbs de Provence.

Casona Rossa Squashed Green Olives with Lemon, a best seller and regular part of our Snack Pack gift basket, are bite-sized green olives from Abruzzo, Italy. Jarred with whole pieces of lemon and fine Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, these emerald beauties have a toothsome firmness and a bright burst of flavor making them a pleasing, well, snack.
